We used survey monkey to do our target group (teenagers/young adults of both genders) research as it is an easy way of reviewing our results, and we asked our target group, of boys and girls in our year groups (ages 16-18) to click on the link and complete the survey.
As you can see the majority of our target group has heard of the film genre apocalypse, this mean that we needed to make our film different, something that would stand out as they were used the genre.
In question 2 again the majority of the answers said that they enjoyed this film genre, this also shows that our audience will know what to expect so we need to follow the norms, but at the same time we need to make out film stand out and interesting for the audience.
Question 3 asked our audience about the main character changes. From the answers it seems like we got a good reaction, so we will defiantly continue with our main characters being female as we think this is effective and will help us make our film stand out and different from the general "post - apocalypse genre.
The reaction from changing the main enemies to something that wont necessary be dead seems to be what we expected which is that it will be slightly controversial, but not a problem for our audience, if we do It well we think that it will defiantly make our film stand out and effective. The reaction shows that out audience will enjoy this vital change
With the final question showing that our target audience is pretty interested in our film, this and the other main ideas show that our target audience likes the ideas we have and that we have pressure to do it well, but if we do it will  be very effective. We then showed them a brief viewing of our half completed opening sequence, and the review we got were positive and they said our themes we were trying to show were effective so far

Opening credits over footage of the action

THE ENVIRONMENT- Abandoned cars, knocked over chairs and tables, paper scattered everywhere. Society has become a wasteland.

The footage under the credits will be sped up and slowed down to show important information

i.e. newspaper articles about the contagion and how it spread.

The setting footage will be cut together with stock film of airports, large crowds, war and hospitals.

SCHEDULE FOR SHOOTING

Shooting dates: 19/1/15- 24/1/15.    This will give ups enough time to assemble what we need                                                             and finalise our ideas.


Duration: Our opening sequence will be 2 minutes long. This was our specification.

Location: We will film our opening sequence in school, mainly on the field and in the science corridor. There will also be shots of the street outside the front of school and of Kingston Hospital to be sped up.

Cast: The main cast of our opening sequence will be ourselves. Other students have volunteered to play the 'patients'.

HOW IT ENDED pitch

THE PITCH.

A global crisis. A virus has swept the globe. The virus cannot be called deadly become those who have fallen victim are not dead… But they’re not alive.

After an experimental trial for curing famine on a global scale, participants begin to feel the effects. Hunger is no longer a problem. The world can move forward in the dawn of a new enlightened age.

Fast forward 4 months. ‘The cure’ has been widely distributed and administered to millions of people across the planet. Countries which were once at war with each other are now united in peace. But there’s a problem. Those who first had ‘the cure’ administered are no longer feeling its effects. Their hunger has returned, but not like ever before. All they can think about is consuming, a hunger so ferocious and extreme, it’s all their brains can function for. Their appetite is unlimited. Their location is global. Their mind-set is infectious. It has begun.

Held up in their college, a team of advanced chemistry students fight to ward off their 'classmates' in time to deliver a cure for the cure to where it is needed.
